Beautillion 1996
Program activities included:
Arts and Culture: California Palace of Legion of Honor.
Community Service: Inaugural Opening Celebration – The African American
Center of the new San Francisco Main Library, which opened in 1996.
Special Events: The Beaux had the opportunity to meet the president of the
United States by assisting the MacFarlane’s in hosting a fundraiser
for (then) President Bill Clinton.
Career Seminar: Victor MacFarlane, Managing Partner and CEO, MacFarlane Partners,
hosted a career seminar for the Beaux where successful African American leaders
in their field shared the secrets of their success, motivational tidbits
and a realistic look at the work force of the 21st century. The Beaux were
invited to spend a day at work with these leaders. In addition, the Beaux
attended a workshop conducted by Linda F. Walls Brown, a Human Resources
Consultant/Trainer to lean resume writing and interviewing skills.
